It's all about the GAME! So, seriously... do you want to find the most addictive game to play in your classroom, that has the kiddos learning the entire time?  If so, you seriously might want to try out my Spot that Word games.  Ya'll - I've never seen anything like it!!  All of the first graders absolutely LOVE playing this game! How do you play? Put the deck of cards in the middle (face down) Each kid picks one card  Turn the top card in the middle over Each kid tries to find their one word match with the middle card (the coolest thing ever... each card has ONE match with every other card) The player who says their match first takes the middle card and their card and puts it to the side. That player takes another card (the other players keep their card) Flip the middle card and do it again. When the deck is gone - players count to see how many cards they accumulated That player wins Shake hands Play again! What comes in the de......
SPOT THAT WORD - New totally cool center time activity game that gives the students practice with 57 1st grade sight words.  How did I come up with this game, you ask... WELLLLLL...... To make a long story short - my 21-year-old son started talking about this cool game him and his new wife played with a cousin of hers (called SPOT IT).  As they were explaining the game, the teacher in me, thought... "HUMMMMM - I bet I could change the pictures to words and make it a learning game as well."  Needless to say, hours upon hours, days, upon days later, I realized that this task was going to me much more daunting than I realized and I should probably just give it up.  BUTTTTT - that little voice inside my head kept saying, "Juneau, this would be so cool --the kids will LOVE IT!"  So, I plugged on with excel spreadsheet after excel spreadsheet, until finally I figured out the most efficient way to replicate the game.  PHEWWWWWWW!!!!!!!  I have to give a s......
These have been my #1 selling item, and I actually was not even going to put it on TPT.  One of my co-workers (A. Guillot ;-) made a comment when she saw them on the work table, and made me realize that someone might want to actually buy these.  THANKS, Mrs. Guillot!!!   These are my #2 best selling item.  I have many different colors and patterns, but the concept is the same.  If you need numbers for your classroom, you might want to check these out.   I created this because I think I was losing my mind with all of my students out of the classroom at the same time... UGHHHHH!  So, this was a Thanksgiving project -- I pray it works.  I'm going to use clothespins for the students to manipulate their names.  The poster is beautiful blown up!  Once again, our media center ROCKS!  This is a huge hit with my kiddos.  We have word flash cards, and the students love playing "Be the Teacher", but of course, I have a......
I LOVE MATH and I love making math sheets!  I bet there is something seriously wrong with that statement, but it's just the truth!  I think I could teach first grade math all day long.  These sheets are free right now, but they won't be for long.  If you teach first and are needing some supplementary math sheets, these might be the ones for you.      I've also created some subtraction sheets as well.  (Free for a limited time) ...
So, since I dropped back down to first, my first goal was to make printables, flash cards, word wall words, and other items to help my students with our Words to Know.  Need I say, WOW!!!!!!!!  This has been a huge undertaking, but I am so glad that I took it on.  I know that the items are helping my students and helping me monitor them.   This product has over 515 pages and an explanation of each page as well.  We start our Monday with our flipchart and our Elkonin boxes, then we move to our PPT.  We practice our ppt at least 2 - 3 times a day (usually during transitions).  There are also sheets that go in the students' binders for nightly practice, as well as seat work (assessments), word searches, scrambled words, ABC order, word wall words, flashcards, and differentiated assessments as well.  I know I might be prejudice, but this is definitely a product worth viewing.  I have it priced at $10.00, but it is one sale right now for $8.......
I'm finally getting into the groove of posting products on TPT.  Here are a few of my new items. This is called Mission Base Station.  It all started back when my 21-year-old was in third grade and his teacher (Mrs. Goudeau) was trying to get her students to learn their multiplication facts.  They played this game daily, and that's all I heard about as a parent... "Mom, I need to learn my threes so I can get to the next planet..."  Sha!  So, I did what any good teacher would do, I stole the idea and did addition and subtraction facts with this game.  The first time I did it, I had so many tears, I almost stopped the entire game.  But the following year, I preceded the game with a set of rules (#1 being you cannot cry or else you lose your turn the next day.)  I know, it sounds harsh, but I would say the same thing if I was a soccer coach, and all the players started crying because they didn't win.  I also got rid of the subtraction fac......
As I'm always wanting to learn and grow, I've decided to post a few things on TpT (Teachers Pay Teachers) and several things on Teachers Notebook website.  Even though this is a big step for me... I'm going to try it out.   I don't mind giving people my stuff for free, but when I have to worry if others are going to be satisfied because they are paying for it... YIKES... that makes me a little nervous. Here's my first item for sale.  This is saved in a PDF file and each number will be printed on a full sheet (8 1/2 x 11.) Teachers Pay Teachers - $1.50 for the set. This was a fun one to create.  I have always loved the game Boggle, and now I have found a way to incorporate it into my classroom.  I'm going to start off with three rows and three columns to get the students understanding the concept... I've created letter cards using the Chevron design and also created a center sheet for them to fill out as they work on their Boggle words.  I have a mag......
