Making Math Easy for ME!

For the first part of our school year, my first graders learned about number bonds (which they did not learn about in kindergarten, and their teacher had never heard of before...).  As we began our journey, I was hesitant, resistant, and discouraged.  But as the year progressed, I realized that my students were actually learning math a completely different way and it was helping them see things differently as well.

I have had to create supplement packets to keep my students working on all of the new and different techniques, and it has truly helped bridge that gap.

For my blog HOP, I am giving away a free sample of this product.  If you decide you like it, I have a link on the last page of the freebie download that will send you to my TPT store.

This is a preview, there are several other sheets within this unit. I just wanted to show you some of the activities.

  1. I think that number bonds are a great alternative, Shanon! The more strategies we give our students, the more successful they'll be. There's no one way that's going to be the perfect fit for every student.
    Thanks for sharing your freebies!
